PRAISE FOR BUILD A MAN:

This is a hugely entertaining book, light-hearted yet with hidden messages of self belief, hope and about following dreams. –Kim the Bookworm

Talli’s writing is fresh, lively and different . . . If you want a book that will make you laugh and make you cry, then this one comes highly recommended. –Bookersatz

Build A Man had characters I really, really cared for, it had an inspired plot (Talli is a plot genius!), it had warmth and humour . . . I can’t recommend it enough. –Chick Lit News and Reviews

A light and charming read, I found the main character, Serenity Holland, to be reminiscent of the loveable awkwardness of Bridget Jones. –Novel Escapes

DESCRIPTION:

Slave to the rich and the rude, cosmetic surgery receptionist Serenity Holland longs for the day she’s a high-flying tabloid reporter. When she meets Jeremy Ritchie — the hang-dog man determined to be Britain’s Most Eligible Bachelor by making himself over from head to toe and everything in between — Serenity knows she’s got a story no editor could resist.

With London’s biggest tabloid on board and her very own column tracking Jeremy’s progress from dud to dude, Serenity is determined to be a success. But when Jeremy’s surgery goes drastically wrong and she’s ordered to cover all the car-crash goriness, Serenity must decide how far she really will go for her dream job.

The perfect man is out there . . . he just needs a little work.

Hey TR, I got a table!

Hey TR, I got a table!
After 2 years of having the kitchen table as my work space, I found a way to get a table of my own. For the last half-year or so, the kitchen table has become impossible to use, because the kids are using it all the time for eating and drawing and painting and using play-dough and playing board games, and if I ever had time to build, by the time I got everything pulled out, it’d be time to put it away again. I’m hoping this will help increase my ability to build things, and also my ability to sustain larger projects, and not just little table scraps. I hope I hope I hope! 😉

Amazing Leonardo da Vinci Inventions You Can Build Yourself (Build It Yourself series)
From armored tanks and gliders to “plastic glass” and drawing machines, this interactive book explores the incredible mind of Leonardo da Vinci through hands-on building projects and activities. Most of Leonardo’s inventions were never made in his lifetime and remained sketches in his famous notebooks; kids examine some of these original sketches and learn about the models he made of his inventions. From there they delve into detailed step-by-step instructions, diagrams, and templates for each project, which are interspersed with historical facts, biographical anecdotes, and trivia. Most of the building can be done using simple household supplies: construction paper, tape, markers, glue, cardboard tubes, aluminum foil, and cardboard boxes. Background about the Renaissance as a period of remarkable achievement in art and science appears throughout the book.
